Why Celebrate Easter?
The joy of Easter lies at the heart of the Christian faith, as it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ — the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and divine love over sin.
Jesus spent his life teaching about love, compassion, and forgiveness. He healed the sick, welcomed the outcast, and challenged the powerful. His message was simple but radical: that every person is loved by God, and that love changes everything.
On Good Friday, Jesus was crucified — an act of sacrifice that Christians believe took the weight of the world’s brokenness upon himself. It looked like the end of the story.
But on the third day, he rose again. The resurrection is the heart of Easter — it’s the moment that speaks of redemption, salvation, and eternal life. It tells us that death doesn’t have the final word, that hope is always alive, and that we are invited into a story far bigger than ourselves.
What happened at the first Easter?
Two thousand years ago, something happened in Jerusalem that changed the course of history. A man who had been publicly executed was seen alive again — and the people who witnessed it were so transformed that they spent the rest of their lives telling others about it. That’s the Easter story, and it’s still changing lives today.
